MAJOR GENERAL MARTIN CHUKUDI OSAHOR (Rtd)

GSS, FSS, MSS, DSS, psc (+), fwc, M.Sc, FNSE, CON, CEM

Major General Martin Chukudi Osahor was born on 9 March, 1951 in Egbudu Akan in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State. He joined the Nigerian Military School (NMS) Zaria in 1965. He commenced cadet training with Regular Course 8 in the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) and proceeded on selection to the Royal Military Academy (RMA) Sandhurst where he completed his training with Intake 49. He was commissioned as a Regular Combatant Officer in the rank of 2/Lt on 4 August 1972 into the Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers.

 He attended the Royal Military College of Science (RMCS) Shrivenham, Swindon, UK where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1975. He obtained 2 Master’s degrees, one in Water Resources Engineering in 1983 and another in Community and Regional Planning in 1984, both from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska USA. He holds certificates in basic Computing, French and International Humanitarian Law. He is a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE).

He attended the following military courses: Engineer Officers Advance Course in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, USA in 1997; the Junior Division Command and Staff Course (JDSC) in Jaji 1980/81 and the Engineer Squadron Commanders Course 1 (ESCC 1) in the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering Makurdi in 1986.

Notable among the appointment he has held are Commanding Officer, 13 Field Engineer and the Engineer Construction Regiments; Military Assistant to the Chief of Army Staff and Colonel Operations both at the Army Headquarters; Directing Staff (Senior Division), General Staff officer grade one (Coordination) and Chief Instructor (Senior Division) respectively at the Command and Staff College Jaji. His last appointment before attending this course was the Colonel General Staff at the Nigerian Army Engineers Headquarters.

He is happily married to Mrs. Patricia Osahor and they are blessed with 4 sons: Chukudi, Leo, Patrick, and Andrew. He loved to play golf, tennis, and in his spare time watches videos, learns French, and does Home Computing.
